Catherine DeHart Sawyer, 88, of the Jackson Line Community went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 25, 2013 in a Jackson County Hospital. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Will D. and Hattie Burnett DeHart. She owned and operated Swain Beauty Shop for 13 years and graduated from Swain County High School in 1942.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Coburn Sawyer, one daughter, Phyllis Annette Warner and husband Bob of Harrison, Mich.; two sons, David A. Sawyer and wife Linda of Bryson City, and Edward T. Sawyer of Bryson City; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and one sister, Dorothy Lee Holland.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Jackson Line Baptist Church of which she was a member. Pastor Tom Harris will officiate with burial in the Sawyer Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM Monday at the Church.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
