Obituary of Laura Carolyn Coleman

L. Carolyn Messer Coleman, 68, of the Shoal Creek Community went home to be with the Lord, Sunday July 7, 2013 in a Jackson County Hospital. A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Flonnie Gunter Messer. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Melony Lynn Littlejohn; 5 brothers, Kelly, John, Billy, J.D., Arthur Messer; 3 sisters, Lessie Tucker, Ellen Frady, Linda Messer. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Coleman; 3 children, Junior Messer of Whittier, Donna Milsaps and husband Ronnie of Bryson City, Tammy Dyer of Whittier, 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 6 sisters, Bonnie Hanses of Yakima, Washington, Gladys Hensley of Whittier, Mary Sue Payne of Sylva, Myrtle Nations of Whittier, Fannie Mae Hoop of Sylva, Annie Payne of Bryson City; 2 brothers, Harrison Messer of Bryson City, Robert Messer of Yakima, Washington. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Lannie Nations and Jimmy Lambert will officiate with burial in Barker's Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
