Obituary of Ruth Beck Cole

Ruth Beck Cole, 87, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 26, 2013 in a Jackson County Hospital. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Haynes and Sarah Elizabeth Ogle Beck. She was a member of Hyatt's Chapel Baptist Church and attended Cold Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Cole and three brothers, Jerry, Til, and Es Beck; and two great granddaughters, Haley and Brittany Cole. She is survived by four children, Joyce Hurley and husband Clint, Wanda Cole, Bonnie Metcalf and husband Sam, Ron Cole, all of Bryson City; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Tony and Danny Lambert will officiate with burial in Hyatt Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
