Tommy Charles Cunningham Sr., 91, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Friday April 29, 2022. A native of Swain County he was the son of the late Harley Nathaniel and Nina Tallent Cunninigham. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Argie Cunningham, and 2 brothers, Claude Cunningham and Dennis Cunningham. Tommy was a US Army Veteran. He was also a Supervisor of the A&P Supermarket and he owned and operated along with his sons Harley and Tommy, Cunningham Nursery. He was a Deacon and Adult Sunday School Teacher at True Gospel Baptist Church. Tommy is survived by his children, Tommy Cunningham and wife Pam, Doris Sneed and husband Richard, Harley Cunningham and wife Alita, Sharon Cunningham and Teresa Cunningham of the home; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Cunningham, and Velda Cline; one brother, Warren Cunningham, and a very special family friend, Ronna Rathbone. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cunningham Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home.
