Obituary of Thelma Sawyer Almond

Thelma Sawyer Almond, 90, of the Deep Creek Community went home to be with the Lord and her other family members, Friday, February 18, 2022. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Big Dad and Bessie Camby Sawyer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two children, Mike Clampitt and wife Tara of Bryson City, and Billy Almond and wife Tina of Bryson City; grandchildren, Ron Arch, Henry Arch, and Alicia Eve Almond; a niece, Heidi Ramsey Woodard and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday February 27, 2022 at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Revs. David Watkins and Ray Fox will officiate with burial at Sawyer Cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
