Obituary of Linda Sue Lindsay

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Sue Holden Lindsay, 69, went home to be with her Lord on January 22, 2022. She was a resident of the Nantahala Wesser Creek Community in Bryson City, NC. Linda was born to the late William (Bill) and Martha Dills Holden, in Bryson City, NC on March 2, 1952. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 3 brothers: James, Robert, and Edgar Holden and 3 sisters: Velerie Holden, Marie Owenby and Ruby Passmore. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Page Lindsay whom she married at the age of 16 on August 9, 1968. The fact that she could not have children of their own was the most disappointing thing in her life. In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her 6 sisters and 2 sisters-in-law: Josaphene Davis, Azalee Slagle, Patricia Passmore (Tommy), Rosa Lee White, Sandra Winchester, Willa Mae Passmore (Earl), Emma Winchester and Cindy Holden, as well as several nieces and nephews. How can one possibly tell all there is to tell about Linda’s life, her unwavering belief in her Lord, her devotion to her husband, her faithful service to her Church at Nantahala Baptist Church where she had been the women’s Sunday School Teacher for many years. Linda was a woman who lived out her faith. She had a servant’s heart. She was generous, kind, and faced the difficulties of life head on by the grace given to her by God. She was a woman full of joy and whose laughter was contagious to others. She was a quilter who took the events of her life and made each one into a beautiful combination of memories for family and friends. She has added her final piece to the quilt and now her life is a lasting testimony and comfort to those who knew and loved her. For many years Linda and her Mother pieced and quilted quilts to sell and to give as gifts to family and friends. After her Mother died, she continued the craft with her sisters. She loved gardening/preserving; Cooking and Baking for family and friends and people in need. She loved the season of Christmas….and everything it stands for. Linda’s life was filled with doing for others. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Nantahala Baptist Church. Revs. Jason Holloway and John Franklin will officiate with burial at Wesser Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at the Church. Pallbearers will be Ben Franklin, Zach Franklin, Enoch Franklin, BB Dills, David Passmore, and Felix Passmore. Honorary Pallbearer will be Brandon Gibson.
