Obituary of Markeeta Mavis Stephenson

Markeeta Parris Stephenson, 84, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord, Monday, January 3, 2022. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Fred and Wilma Parris. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Dale Parris and a baby sister. She is survived by three children, David Stephenson and wife Mary of Bryson City, Melissa Pratt and husband Mike of Orlando, FL, and Charles Stephenson of Waleska, GA; three grandchildren, Little Dave Stephenson, Eric Pratt, and Cathy Pratt; one brother, Ivor Parris and wife Linda; three sisters, Iris Fisher, Peggy Holcombe and husband Larry, and Darlene Gunter and husband Ronnie; one sister-in-law, Linda Parris and several nieces and nephews. A private family visitation will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Swain Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Paw’s Animal Shelter at PO Box 1814 Bryson City, NC 28713.
