Obituary of Ruby Pauline Jones

Ruby Pauline Jones, born on Forney Creek in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in Swain County on August 27, 1937 was called home to be with her most kind and gracious Lord and Savior on November 1, 2021. “Oh, what a friend she had in Jesus.” She lived her life as a shining example of a virtuous woman for all who had the privilege of her company.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Jones, her parents General and Nellie Lowe, her siblings Clifford Lowe, Ann Jones, Harold Lowe, and Douglas Lowe. A daughter-in-law, Martha Woodard Jones and a son-in-law Robert Mathews.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Jones, Sr. Her children, Kay (Daryl) Laney, Gale Martin (Fiancée, Bill), Kathy Jones, Fred (Bernita) Jones, Cindy Mathews, Dennis (Connie) Jones, Daniel (Misty) Jones, Amy Jones. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Melissa Laney, MaKayla Carlisle, Branson Carlisle, Preston Rhinehart, Chad (Susan) Laney, Emily Laney, Zachary (Abby) Jones, Ruby Jones, Ezra Jones, Jeremiah (Tonya) Jones, Jessica (Derek) Holder, Levi Holder, Titus Holder, Jacob (Fiancée Amber) Jones, Arabella Jones, Charlotte Jones, Dakota (Anna) Jones, and General (Fiancée, Alyssa) Jones.
She is also survived by her siblings, Helen Boone, Thurman (Linda) Lowe, Jean Davis, Rachel (Harrison) Messer and many nieces and nephews.
Family meant more than the world to her and she will be so greatly missed. One more of Earth's beautiful guiding lights added to Heaven's brilliant illumination.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Eugene Moore and Ned Pressley will officiate with burial in the Sawmill Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
