Julla Styles Scruggs, 66, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 11, 2021 after a battle with COVID. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Martha Jenkins Styles.
She was preceded in death by her step father, Verlin “Bud” Jenkins; four sisters and two brothers.
Julla is survived by her lifetime companion, John Fortner, Jr. “Buddy”; son, Nathan Fortner; grandchildren, Aaron Cody Fortner, Savannah Mae Fortner; sisters, Bonnie and Beth Jenkins; special sister-in-law, Debbie Styles; several nieces, nephews and many good friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
