Obituary of Linda Dernall Waits
Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Linda D. Waits 58, of Whittier NC passed away suddenly on Sunday morning May 2nd at her home while watching the sunrise.
Linda was born in Virginia to the late Frank Allen and Dorothy Allen Shelton, during her 20s they moved to Cherokee NC and she met her late husband JW she then moved to GA until he passed, and she came back to NC. She had a love for the outdoors, coffee, nascar (Dale sr. and Richard petty were her favorites), and the morning news. Her favorite flowers were tulips and lilies. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her late husband. she was a member of the civil air patrol, for her working career she worked at a funeral home in GA for many years and later she went on to do Home Health work for some time.
Mrs,Waits was a loving sister, Aunt (mom), wife, and a person with a heart of gold. she also had the side to her to where if you made her mad you would know it, she was very outspoken and said what was on her mind. The ones she met wherever she went loved her. Her love was pure and she loved with all she had even when she became very ill she still tried to be there for all and love unconditionally. She was in and out of the hospital and nursing homes for rehab often over the last 2 years that she even got best resident award for a few months. Even there she met lot's of people whom she became good friends with residence and staff. But nothing beat her love for her great- nephew josh boy was he the apple of her eye and could do no wrong. Their love was like no other love an aunt and great nephew could have their hour long phone conversations to laughs and asking how he was every time we talked. she always told us he was the reason why she was surviving as long as she was for josh.
Mrs. Waits is preceded in death by her mother Dorothy(Ann), father Frank allen, Husband JW, a brother in law Myron "rusty" Maney, A Sister in law Betty of GA,
'
She is survived by a Brother Francis "Tommy" allen of NC, Sister Kathy Maney(Mike C) of NC, Neice Heather Allen(favorite nephew in law as she called him Bryan VanSteenburg), a great- nephew Joshua VanSteenburg all of FL, An Aquired sister/best friend Nannette of NC, many friends and family in VA, NC,GA. She is very loved and will be missed by many.
