Rev. Larry W. Foster from Bryson City, NC - (originally from Gibsonville) entered the gates of heaven on April 7, 2021. Pastor of Ela Missionary Baptist Church in Bryson City for 33 years, he graciously received Emeritus in 2019. He also worked many years for Swain County Schools as a substitute teacher, and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Larry graduated from Fruitland Baptist Bible College and also from Wake Forest Seminary. Larry is survived by: Brother-In-Law, Larry McAteer; nieces, Tracie Allison Caudill and Penny Foster Gray (Dean); nephews, Craig Allison and Todd Foster (Susanne); aunts, Ann Clark and Pat Steadman of Raeford NC and Charlotte Davis of Southern Pines; special cousin, John Gallagher (Chris); 5 great nephews, 4 great nieces, 3 great great nieces, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnne Perry Foster; mother, Juanita Holt Foster; father, Lewis Foster; brother, Bobby Foster, and sister, Sylvia Foster McAteer. Family will receive friends Saturday, April 10 from 1 – 2:00 PM ; service at 2:00 at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City, A special thank you to the radiology department (ultrasound) at Alamance Regional Hospital for being so good to him over the last 2 1/2 years. Thank you to Hospice of Alamance/Caswell County.
