Obituary of Marie Sequoyah

Marie Crowe Sequoyah, 84, of Cherokee went to her Heavenly Home on January 20, 2021. She was born in Cherokee to the late Albert and Regina Crowe. She worked in Cherokee as a teacher and later at The Cherokees manufacturing facility. Many people still remember her as their teacher. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member at Yellowhill Baptist Church. She enjoyed making Indian dolls and baskets as a hobby. She never met a stranger and was loved by many. She babysat a lot of children throughout her life.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Sequoyah; four sons, Allen Sequoyah, Verlin Sequoyah, Verlin Sequoyah Jr., and Waylon Sequoyah; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; two sisters, Charlotte George and Darlene Lossiah and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 2:00pm at Bigwitch Baptist Church with Reverend Ben Reed officiating. Burial will follow at the Crowe Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 4:00pm until 9:0pm. Crisp Funeral Home is assisting the Sequoyah family with arrangements.
