Obituary of Charles Hill King

Charles Hill King (Charlie), 80, of the Lauada Community, went home to be with the Lord, Friday September 2, 2016 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Earl Hill and Vesta Parton King, and husband of the late Virginia Young King. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Catherine King; one sister, Thelma King DeHart and two brothers Johnny King and Eugene King. He is survived by one son Earl King and wife Vicky of Bryson City; three grandchildren, Hilary Bumgarner and husband Robbie of Bryson City, Earl King II and wife Elle of Robbinsville, NC, and Caleb King and Ashley of Lexington, NC; one great grandson, his pride and joy, Huck King (Huckleberry); two sisters, Annie Mae Cooper of Bryson City and Rachel Griggs and husband Roy of Bryson City; many nieces and nephews in Virginia and North Carolina, and a loving Church Family. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Monday at Cold Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Oliver Dills and Caleb King will officiate with burial at King-Smiley Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Monday at the Church.
