Obituary of James Colon Jenkins

James Colin Jenkins, 63, of Bear Cove Circle, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday August 18, 2016. A native of Swain County he was the son of the late Robert Glenn and Delthia Lequire Jenkins. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister Gerene Messer. He was a member of Franklin Grove Baptist Church. Colin was a Jouneyman Diesel Mechanic with Continental Trail Ways in Charlotte, NC for 12 years, and then worked for the Swain County School system as a Transportation Supervisor until his retirement in 2013. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy J. Posey; one son Plato Lee Posey and wife Kathryn of Bryson City; two beloved grandchildren, Michelle Lee Posey, and James Colin Posey both of Bryson City; one sister Gwen Sanders of Sylva; one brother Kyle Jenkins and wife Christy of Urbanna, VA, and numerus nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Eddie Deitz will officiate with burial in Breedlove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Eddie Stockton, Bobby Childers, Bob Marr, Ronnie Douthit, Randall Sheffield, Rick Pruitt, Archie Watkins, and Cam Carson.
