Obituary of Bruce Carroll Messer

Bruce C. Messer, 73, of Bryson City has went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 29, 2016. He was a lifetime resident of Bryson City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beauford and Effie Messer and his son, David Messer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Messer; one daughter, Vickie and husband Tim Saunooke of Cherokee; three grandchildren, Brandon Messer, Jamy and Chelsea Saunooke; two sisters, Sue Warren and Linda Fowler both of Bryson City; one sister-in-law, Carol Clark and husband Cecil of Anderson, SC; and many nieces, and a nephew; and his special pets, Bill and Hillary. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday at Crisp Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Earl Holden and Rev. Tim Barker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.
