Eva Jenkins Styles, 95, of Bryson City, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday July 21st, 2016. She passed away peacefully at her home after an extended illness. Born in Swain County on April 16th, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Jenkins and Mellie Lane Jenkins. Eva loved quilting, reading, gardening, going camping and fishing, but most of all she loved spending time with all her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Styles, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and 3 of her children; Jean Cline, Bell Norwood and Ray Styles.
Surviving are her 3 children; Vernon (Judy) Styles of Bryson City, Annette (Jimmy) Nations of Whittier and Darlene (Dilmer) Parris of Whittier. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also her close friends Edna Wiggins, Ellen McGaha, Alisha Thalhammer, Judy Shuler, Jawan Thomas and Hazel Cook.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday July 24th in the Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial following at Swain Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday July 23rd at the Funeral Home.
