Obituary of Evelyn Louise Rogers

Evelyn Rogers, 85, of Whittier passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha McLean Davis and wife of the late John E. Rogers. She was a member of Whittier Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Earl Rogers. She is survived by one son, Thomas Rogers of Red Bank, TN; two grandchildren, Thomas W. Rogers Jr. (Jennifer) of Calhoun, TN, and Anthony W. Rogers of Red Bank, TN. She was expecting her first great granddaughter, Arabella Rebecca Rogers. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Eddie Welch of the Wolftown Community in Cherokee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Max Cochran and Ray Fox will officiate with an Eastern Star graveside service at Sherrill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm Monday and from 12 to 2 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
