Bryson City Dateline Norman W. Breedlove, 81, of the Maple Springs Community in Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 26, 2010 at his residence after a long courageous battle with cancer. Norman was a Korean War Veteran. He retired in 1986 from Dayco Southern in Waynesville with 25 years of service. Norman enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and wood working. He was the son of the late Jim and Ethel Rogers Breedlove. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Buck Phillips; two grandchildren, Jeff Phillips, Ronnie Estep Jr; and three sisters, Mrytle Faulknier, Marie Hutchins, and Nell Breedlove. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ethel Simonds Breedlove; three daughters, Janice Phillips, Patty (Donald) Medford, Carolyn (Ronnie) Estep; one son, Jerry (Jeanette) Breedlove all of Bryson City; six grandchildren, Michelle Estep DeHart, Mark Estep, Chris and Timmy Phillips, Matthew Medford, Patrick Breedlove; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Neuenschwander of Waynesville; and one brother, Leanard Breedlove of Winston Salem. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 29 at Maple Springs Baptist Church where he was a member, deacon, and past Sunday School Superintendent. Rev. Roy Lindsey and Rev. Tim Barker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Crisp Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Chris Phillips, Mark Estep, Matthew Medford, Kevin DeHart, Jimmy Monteith, Terry Bailey and Danny Parton. Special singers will be Patrick Breedlove and Family.
