Lonnie Herron, 67, formerly of Bryson City passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 in a Buncombe County hospital.
A native of Swain County, he was the son of Dave Herron of Belmont and the late Lassie Smith Herron.
He was the former manager of Ingles in Bryson City and a former police officer at Bryson City Police Department.
Lonnie is survived by his son, Robert Herron and wife Jeanette of Bryson City; granddaughter, Aspen Marie Herron; sisters, Lillian Evelyn Kelly and husband Charles, Judy Lynn Ramos and husband Pete of Dallas, GA, Susan Kay Roensch and husband Kenneth of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rita Gail Herron-Buffington of Alexis, NC; and brothers, Gene Herron and wife Cindy of Bryson City, Billy Herron and wife Ruby of Wilmot, and Richard Childers and wife Janice of Rock Hill, SC.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Brendle Hill Cemetery. Rev. Max Cochran will officiate.
Crisp Funeral Home is assisting the family.
