Obituary of Robert Jenkins

Robert Jenkins, 83, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 3, 2018. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Albert and Margaret Cooper Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Jenkins and his daughter, Sonja Mason.
He was a US Army Veteran.
Robert is survived by two children, Jeff Jenkins and wife Bobbi Jo of Bryson City, Rita Moss and husband Randal of Sylva; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Pauline Carson of Penrose, and Betty Jo White of Hernando, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of which he was a member. Revs. Eddie Stillwell and Earl Holden will officiate with burial in the Jenkins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 pm Saturday at the church.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Mission Fund, 27 Robinson Gap Road, Bryson City, NC 28713.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Skyland Care Center for their loving care of Robert.
