Obituary of William Larry Lambert

William (Bill) Larry Lambert, 72, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord, Monday October 6, 2017. A native of Jackson County and longtime resident of Swain County, he was the son of the late Jack and Selma Messer Lambert. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by three sisters, Lovicia Cole, Elizabeth Dennis, and Katherine Lambert. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in the Vietnam Era. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margaret Farley Lambert; two daughters, Tanya Lambert Goree and husband Dale of Bryson City, and Heather Lambert and fiancée Patrick Michael of Qualla; two grandchildren, Brittany Burke, and Mackenzie Goree both of Bryson City; two brothers, Claude Lambert and wife Priscilla, and David Lambert and wife Roxanne, and one sister, Betty Smith and husband Bob. A private family graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Swain Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Mike Cogdill will officiate. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 9281 in Bryson City, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
