Jeanette Parton, 85, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 16, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thad and Ethel Parton; children, Tommy Nelson, Rhena Charmaine Nelson, and Baby Nelson; and her brothers, Eugene, Mono, and Marshall Parton. She attended Sawmill Hill Baptist Church when she was able. Jeanette is survived by her longtime companion, Floyd Long of Bryson City; children, Wilma (Dan) Coats, Billy Nelson, Sheila Nelson all of New York, Janice Welch (Van) of Madison County and Gene Long; siblings, Dexter (Kaye) Parton, Clayton (Audrey) Parton, Jack (Joanne) Parton, Kristeen (Jack) Lee, Thad (Dorothy) Parton, Owen (Becky) Parton and Burrell (Ethel) Parton; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sawmill Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Monday at the funeral home. Nephews will be pallbearers.
