James Earl McLean, 61, of the Deep Creek Community, lost his battle with cancer, Thursday, December 29, 2016. A native of Swain County he was the son of Beulah Sutton McLean of Bryson City and the late E.J. McLean. In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by one sister Kay McLean; one uncle, Kenneth McLean; grandparents, Earnest and Faye McLean; one aunt, Rosie Stepp; and grandparents, Oscar and Dorothy Owle. He was survived by one sister, Cookie Walker and husband Johnny of Bryson City; one brother, Ray McLean and partner Melanie McLoud of Bryson City; a special niece and best friend, Gracie Walker of Bryson City; one nephew James Walker of Bryson City; three great nieces, Tracy, Sera, and Morgan, and a good friend Ron Cole all of Bryson City. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home.
